In a recent publication in Nature Reviews Disease Primers, Prof. Dr. Christian Schulz and Prof. Dr. Sebastian Suerbaum as (co-)authors provide an update on the epidemiological trends of helicobacter pylori infections, key aspects of its pathogenicity and its role in gastroduodenal pathologies. In addition, the current state of therapeutic research, as well as the development of potential vaccines, is presented.
This reflects the scientific work of the bayresq.net project Helicopredict, which is focused on the development of a platform for genome-based resistance and virulence prediction in Helicobacter pylori.
