40th anniversary of the Gene Center

On Monday, June 24, 2024, LMU hosted the celebratory symposium for the 40th anniversary of the Gene Center. As part of the Gene Center, we were also present and participated in the celebration. The Gene Center is a central scientific institution of LMU and was founded in 1984 to advance genetic engineering and molecular biological research in Germany.

The event was opened by Professor Karl-Peter Hopfner, Director of the Gene Center. Following that, Markus Blume, State Minister for Science and the Arts, also delivered a speech. Other speakers included Professor Bernd Huber, President of LMU, Professor Roland Beckmann, Dean of the Faculty of Chemistry and Pharmacy, and Thomas Gudermann, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine. Professor Patrick Cramer, President of the Max Planck Society, sent a video message.

Throughout the entire event, there was a very good and relaxed atmosphere, which extended to all speakers and well-wishers, including the Bavarian State Minister for Science and the Arts, Markus Blume. Thank you for this wonderful, highly successful event and to all the organizers.
